Description

I hope, that everybody knows, that two days ago was the aniwersary of the outbreak of World War II. For my country it was one of the most imortant moments in history, because the same day, 73 years ago, Germans invaded us and after almost month of fight conquered our country.

I want to draw something on this occasion. It is simple picture whithout hidden symbols. However I show here my opinion about last war. But I don't reveal you it. Interpret the picture by yourself.

And think about poeple, who died for their fatherland in that day. They all must die young.

Nie będę go wyjawiać. Zinterpretuj ten rysunek na własny sposób.

I pomyśl o tych, którzy w tamtym dniu polegli za ojczyznę. Ilu z nich musiało umrzeć tak młodo.

Even though you say that there's no hidden message within this picture, I think it is somehow very symbolic the way you arranged it. :)
First of all, I appreciate the fact that people are still remembering the outburst of war and the following cruelty. Half of my family is Polish too, but I cosider myself German. As far as I am informed, I've got no family members who still bear hatred towards Germany, but I think it is absolutely important to be reminded of the brutality of the past though. Even if it is deeply embarrassing and does not really allow any patriotism for my home country. (So much for my personal story. I'm sorry, I actually wanted to talk about your picture!)
I like the way they're all looking at the swastika above, which seems somehow like a superior power. If they would look at each other, maybe there would be a chance for them to realize the consequences of their behaviour for other human beings. (Especially seen from the German perspective).
Furthermore, the Germans look stronger and more organized, standing in a row as they do, but on the other hand, the Polish seem rather connected to each other, also because of the brighter background between them.
It is a nice artwork, showing that war is a sad thing in a subtle, but effective way. I think I would have put the words 'we all must die young' somewhere inside the picture because it would emphasize the meaning even more.
